Thanks to all those who participated in our 11th GIST Day of Learning. There were 27 participants, with people joining our videoconference from BC, Alberta, Ontario, Quebec, New Brunswick, Minnesota, Massachusetts, Utah and Texas.

Alannah Smrke, MD – Keynote Speaker
Alannah Smrke is a Medical Oncologist at BC Cancer – Vancouver Centre who treats sarcoma and gynecological cancers. She completed her Medical Oncology training at the University of British Columba and completed a fellowship in Sarcoma at The Royal Marsden Hospital in London, UK. She has an interest in adolescent and young adult oncology, and precision oncology for sarcomas.
David Josephy, PhD
President, GIST Sarcoma Life Raft Group Canada
Professor of Molecular and Cellular Biology, retired.
David has been involved with GIST for over 20 years
Hazel McLeod
Director, GIST Sarcoma Life Raft Group Canada.
Since 2018, Hazel has been leading roundtable discussions with GIST patients and caregivers across Canada
For those unfamiliar with our GIST Day of Learning conferences, Life Raft Group Canada has been hosting these GIST patient and caregiver conferences across Canada since 2012, to provide support and education for those living with GIST. These conferences are open to those who have GIST, as well as caregivers, family members, friends, healthcare providers, and anyone who wishes to learn more about GIST. There is no cost to attend.
